South Louisiana Electric Cooperative Assn. offers four scholarships each year to qualified students to Nicholls State University or L. E. Fletcher Community College. These scholarships are valued at $500.00 per semester for the fall and spring semesters and may be used for school expenses such as tuition, room and board, books or other supplies.

To qualify for a SLECA scholarship a graduating senior:

 Must be entering his/her freshman year at Nicholls State University or L. E. Fletcher Community College;

• Must live in SLECA’s service area with the immediate family member being a member of SLECA or parent must be president, office manager or owner of a corporation or business that is a member of SLECA
   

• Must have maintained a minimum C average in high school
   

• Must be enrolling as a full time student at Nicholls or L. E. Fletcher; and
   

• Must have a need for financial assistance.
