If you
or someone in your household is on a life
support system such as oxygen or other medical
equipment that requires electricity to operate,
it is important to let SLECA know so we can take
this into account in case of power outages.
SLECA will do everything it can to restore power
on a priority basis to those members who are on
life support systems. We strongly recommend,
however, that anyone who has a serious medical
condition that could be life threatening during
a power outage should have a backup source of
power such as an emergency generator or can
relocate to another location until power is
restored.
If you or someone in your home is dependent on
life support equipment, please let SLECA know by
getting a letter from your doctor that includes
the following information: name, address, phone
number and type of support system.
Please send the letter to the SLECA’s Member
Services Department, P. O. Box 4037, Houma, LA
70361.
